For women with uterine prolapse living outside of Soddo, transportation can be a roadblock to visiting the hospital to have an evaluation and treatment. Many women who have had surgery have walked hours to get to a rural clinic for evaluation. Extreme poverty can and does result in women not accessing medical care because they cannot get to the hospital. A small amount of money allows women to access medical care and have transportation home when the surgery is completed.
